Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Smart Start #1! My name is Jessica Baker and I have been the Director at this location since August, 2009. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Mount Union College in Ohio, which is where I grew up. My teaching experience ranges from early childhood to elementary school, and I have even taught other teachers!

            Part of what I love about being a director is having the opportunity to get to know each and every child that attends our center. It is so amazing to see each child’s individual growth, physically, emotionally, and intellectually. I also love working with the parents in order to meet each child’s needs in the best way possible.

            We have a great team of teachers here at our school who are also very committed to our students. They range in experience from a few months to eleven years. Everyone on our team supports one another, which makes our atmosphere a friendly and loving one.

            I take great pride in our facility and do everything I can to support the parents, teachers, and students here. Our teachers love to help their students learn, laugh, and grow, and do a wonderful job meeting each child’s needs. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
